  Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Area raise €3,434 for the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

  The Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area were out in force on the 30th of November and 1st of December raising money for the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal. On Saturday the 30th, volunteers were shaking buckets in The Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre and the Dundrum Town Centre in a collection day organised by the volunteers. An incredible €1,536.81 was raised.

  
  

  On Sunday the 1st of December, volunteers took part in the nationwide collection day, organised between the Irish Red Cross and Tesco Ireland. Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown volunteers donned their bibs for a second day in a row and collected money in the five Tesco stores in the area; Ballybrack, Dun Laoghaire, Stillorgan, Dundrum and Nutgrove. Once again it was a very productive day, with an amazing €1897.19 raised.

  
  

  The success of this collection is a result of the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of the public in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown. We would like to sincerely thank all who donated and helped out on both days. We are sure the money will go to very good use supporting the 13.2 million victims the worst tropical storm in history.
